For to every person who has something, even more will be given, and he will have more than enough; but the person who has nothing, even the little that he has will be taken away from him. Matthew 25:29
All of us like to be given more. This is naturally and King Hezekiah was no exceptional. When he was seriously ill and almost died God sent prophet Isaiah to tell him to put everything in order because he would not recover. Get ready and prepare to die thus said of God, the almighty.
He cried very bitterly after hearing this and he prayed to God for mercy, God healed him and granted King Hezekiah fifteen years longer to live. It is therefore King Hezekiah was given more in age in his life. What a blessing!
The story of Abraham; the father of faith speaks of kindness and generosity. Because of Abraham’s kindness and generosity towards his nephew Lot, even more was given to him and he became the ‘Father of Nation.’ In fact, Abraham offered Lot to make the first choice for what he wanted. However Abraham ended up being given more whereas Lot, even the ‘more’ he had became ‘little’ was taken away from him.
Here goes these saying; Little is much when God is in it, and ‘Safety is not found in the absence of danger but in the presence of God.’ In the presence of God, Abraham was rich and secured. Because of his selfishness and greed, Lot turned out being captured and all his possessions taken away from him and it was Abraham who was so blessed rescued him from his capture.
The greatest gift we can ever give to God is our honest self.
