Some seeds fell in good soil, and the plants produced corn, some produced a hundred gains, others sixty, and others thirty. Matthew 13:8
Jesus talked about a parable of a sower, who scattered seed in the field, expecting a harvest at due time. The seed itself does not produce its harvest according to its ability. The seed grows and there would be different kinds of growth.
As mentioned in the Gospel, some seeds fell along the path. Birds came along and ate them up. No protection was given at all. Some of it fell on rocky ground where the soil was little. The seeds soon sprouted, but the young plants were easily burnt up by the sun because the roots had not grown deep. Some of the seed fell among thorn bushes which grew up and choked the plants. But some seeds fell in good soil, and the plants produced corn, which was plentiful.
All these harvests referred to the word of God received by all his believers differently and individually. If a believer who has a piece of land, heartedly and nicely ploughed, the harvest bound to show up as said by Jesus; production of thirty, sixty and even a hundred fold.
Thanks be to God almighty who blesses us with such abundant harvests.
