Joseph, son of Jacob was sold for twenty pieces of silver to the Ishmaelites who took him to Egypt. They sold him to Potiphar, one of the king’s officers who was the captain of the palace guard. He lived in the house of his Egyptian master. The lord was with Jospeh and made him successful in everything he did. Genesis 39:1-3
As said in the Bible, it was God who made Joseph successful. The presence of God in his life blessed and guided him.
Joseph used to take care of the sheep and goats with his brothers. He brought bad news and bad reports only to his father about what his brothers were doing.
Jacob loved Joseph very much, and he made him a long robe with full sleeves. That was the cause of jealousy that started off with his brothers. They sold him to Egypt.
The robe caught in the hands of the wife of his Egyptian master was the proof of the accusation which Potiphar’s wife accused him.
The long robe which Jacob made for Joseph and the robe caught in the hands of his master’s wife were doors opened for God to work in the life of Joseph. This was also an opportunity for his future as governor over Egypt and his authority was only second to the king.
Opportunity seldom knocks twice and golden opportunity knocks only once! God’s opportunity is always golden opportunity which worth one’s life-time.
God’s opportunity is the gift to all his beloved children.
