The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you. Luke 6:38
The measure of love, is love in deeds, it is love indeed. A Carmelite nun said, “Love has only one measure and that is love without measure”. Being a Carmelite nun, blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity lived a life blessed with God’s love. Give and take is a parallel policy we used to live on, yet Jesus in the Gospel taught to give only.
He said, “Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands – all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.” This is a singular way policy, yet God would make it parallel by his grace.
As said in Proverbs ; Be generous and share your food with the poor, you will be blessed for it. Proverb 22:9
There was once a rich man who dressed in the most expensive clothes and lived in great luxury every day. There was also a poor man covered with sores, who used to be brought to the rich man’s door, hoping to eat the bits of food that fell from the rich man’s table.
The poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the feast in heaven. The rich man also died and was in hades, where he was in great pain. He begged for mercy at Abraham to help him, but he said, ” Remember my son, that in your lifetime your were given all good things, the poor man bad things. ”
Being blessed with riches and good things did not ever have mercy or being kind to the poor man at his door, now received the measure for being merciless and unkind.
The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.
