Between three and six o’clock in the morning Jesus came to the disciples, walking on the water. Matthew 14:25
After feeding of the five thousand, Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people away. After sending the people away, he went up a hill by himself to pray. He was all alone by himself on the hill. He was seeking and praying in solitude for the Heavenly Father for his will.
By this time the boat was far out in the lake, tossed about by the waves. They were in danger without the presence of Christ.
At dawn, Jesus came to the disciples walking on the water. When they saw him, they were terrified because this was out of their expectation. Jesus got into the boat with Peter whom Jesus reached out and grabbed hold of while sinking down in the water. The wind died down immediately in the presence of Christ on the boat. Then the disciples eyes opened and recognized him truly as the Son of God and worshiped Jesus.
Truly the presence of Christ is our safety, and it is said that the safety is not found in the absence of danger but in the presence of God.
Jesus was a man who seek God, his Heavenly Father before dawn. After seeking God knowing his will, even the wind listened to him. He demonstrated greatness and power by his life with the intamicy with the Heavenly Father as the Son of God. A man of authority, the word of God made fresh.
Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God.
