His anger lasts only a moment, his goodness for a life time. Tears may flow in the night, but joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5
This psalm was an expression of praise by David after he experienced healing, revival from the valley of death and from sadness into a joyful dance of his life.
David was the youngest son of his father, Jesse. He used to look after his father’s sheep and was a young shepherd boy. After removing king Saul, God made David king of Israel. This was what God said about him : ” I have found that David son of Jesse is the kind of man I like, a man who will do all i want him to do. ” Therefore David was a man after God’s heart. It was Jesus, a descendant of David, whom God made the Savior of the people of Israel, as he had promised David was thirty years old when he became king and he ruled for forty years.
David was a good man with a kind heart. He did not want to kill king Saul because he was a chosen king by God even though God had given Saul into his power many times. He well treated Mephibosheth, the grandson of Saul, a cripple. He gave him back all the land that belonged to his table just liked one of his sons.
After prophet Nathan confronted David for his evil act with Bathsheba, wife of Uriah the Hettite, he represented for his adultery and expressed himself in psalm 51 which was the famous prayer for forgiveness of David to God.
A life of praise, worship and repentance made up the life which God said, ” You are a man after God’s heart. ”
Late repentance is seldom true, but true repentance is never too late.
