Jesus said to them, ” What are you talking about to each other, as you walk along? ” Luke 24:17
On the same day after Jesus had resurrected from the death, two of Jesus’ followers were going to a village named Emmaus. They were talking to each other about all the things that had happened, Jesus himself drew near and walked with them. They saw him, but somehow did not recognize him. Jesus tried to ask them about their conversation. They stood still with sad faces shared all their doubts, set-back and disappointments. The crucifixion of the one, that would to set Israel free was now dead, no more. Their hope vanished and heart broken.
As they came near the village to which they were going, Jesus asked as if he were going farther; but they held him back to stay with them because it was getting dark.
Jesus sat down, took the bread, said the blessing and he broke the bread, eating with them. At that very moment, their eyes were opened and they recognized him but Jesus disappeared from their sight. At once they got up, filled with hope and made their way back to Jerusalem, witnessing for Jesus, the resurrected Christ in their midst.
The walk to Emmaus was a very famous story recorded in the Bible in which spiritual eyes opened to feel and recognize the presence of God. Alleluia, praise be the name of God!
Put faith in every situation, God will direct your path.
