The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in field pools of fresh water. He gives me strength. He guides me in the right path, as he has promised. Even if I go through the deepest darkness. I will not be afraid, Lord, for you are with me. Your shepherd’s rod and staff protect me. You prepare a banquet for me, where all my enemies can see me; you welcome me as an honored guest and fill my cup to the brim. I know that your goodness and love will be with me all my life; and your house will be my home as long as I live. Psalm 23:1-6

This psalm is a very famous hymn of praise and thanksgiving. The author in this hymn expressed himself with gratitude in knowing his goodness.

It is very much encouraged as a daily devotion. To know that the Lord is our shepherd is very important. Jesus is the best shepherd who laid down his life for his sheep. He is the shepherd of shepherds.

A shepherd knows his sheep as his sheep know him. They recognized his particular voice. It is say, better to know the shepherd than to know the psalm. So it is better to love Jesus than just to know him.

The Lord is my shepherd, I was once lost but now I am found.
