Foxes have holes, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lie down and rest. Luke 9:58

On the way to Jerusalem, Jesus was met by some men who said they wanted to follow Jesus. When Jesus told them about his life, they all put out their reasons as if the way of life of Jesus was too simple, yet hard to follow and cope.

Even the foxes and the birds have their homes, Jesus did not even have a place to lie down his head is too hard for them to understand. What a life that spoke of poorness and nothingness.

When one man asked for the permission to go back and bury his father, Jesus told him not to care for the burial. Another man said he wanted to bid farewell to his family, Jesus said he was no use to the kingdom of God.

All these answers from Jesus confused all his would be followers and thus came to an end of following. To follow Jesus as a follower did not require qualification or education or even money. Jesus lived a life of a carpenter and he did not bring along any thing for tomorrow.

Jesus wanted us to live an easy and simple life trusting on what our ‘ Heavenly Father ‘ provides. He taught us to pray for daily bread only to live day by day. He wanted us to let go all worldly worries, anxieties, prestige and richness which are blockages in following him. All these things though are important and necessary for life but they are not worth to compare with what God had prepared for us. They are just secondary in our pursuit with God. Jesus said, seek yee first the kingdom of God, and the rest shall be added unto you. Thank you and praise you, Jesus, my Lord and my God.

As long as you know that God is for you, it doesn’t matter who is against you.
