When the Lord saw her, his heart was filled with pity for her, and he said to her, ” Don’t cry. ” Luke 7:13

Jesus went to a town called Nain accompanied by his disciples and a large crowd. Just as Jesus arrived at the gate, a funeral procession was coming out. A young man had died and he was the only son of a widow. This really heart broken for the mother.

When the Lord saw her, his heart was filled with pity for her. heart filled with pity was having compassion for someone. True compassion is love in action. He said to her, ” Don’t cry. ” By saying this, Jesus meant he had the intention to help this poor mother, a widow to stop her crying. Then he walked over and touched the coffin, and the men carrying it stopped for they knew something was going to happen. For those who believed, miracles always follow.

Jesus said, ” Young man! Get up, I tell you! ” When Jesus spoke, he was authority incarnate – The word of God made flesh. The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus raised the widow’s son back to life. His love, compassion and authority stopped the widow from crying no more.

Seeing this, the crowd was filled with fear and praised God. ” A great prophet has appeared among us! ” They said : ” God has come to save his people. ”

Indeed, Jesus the Lord had come to be the world’s savior. He saves over the nations in one way or another, everyday and forever. No more tears but praise and praise keeps on repeating for Jesus, our Lord is always compassionate.

Compassion is to look beyond your own pain, to see the pain of others.
