Whenever two of you on earth agree about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two on three come together in my name, I am there with them. Matthew 18:19-20
Prayer is a communication with God. A person who prays is a prayer. Every Christian is to pray always to build relationship and intimacy with God. To pray is to know the will of God for oneself. It is very important for all Christians to pray daily because prayer moves the hand that moves the world; E.M Bounds.
Jesus teaching on prayer was, ” Father : May your holy name be honored; may your kingdom come. Give us day by day the food we need. Forgive us our sins, for we forgive everyone who does us wrong. And do not bring us to hard testing. ” Luke 11:2-4
He also continued to say : Ask, and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks will receive, and he who seeks will find, and the door will be opened to anyone who knocks. Tell God who is our Heavenly Father all that is in you heart as one unloads one’s burden. Pour out all your weakness needs, troubles and anxieties. After doing so, there will be no lack of what to say. Our Heavenly Father understands and knows.
St Augustine once said that fasting and almsgiving are the two wings that we need for our prayers to rise up to God. More over, Jesus said, ” For where two or three come together in my name, I am there with them. ” Every prayer said, Jesus hears and he would answer prayer in his time and according to his will. Remember then, to pray always and pray together with others for power and grace.
Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer work is the greater work.
