Consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way. James 1:2

The people James wrote to were scattered over the whole world because of persecution. He encouraged them to consider their perspective about difficulties. To face trials come your way, your endurance by the grace of God carries you all the way without failing, the ability to endure successfully. All things work out for good for those who love God and are called to his purpose. Romans 8:28. Those whom God had already chosen and set apart to become like his son.

We are on our journey towards heavenly goal striving to win the prize which Christ has already won for us. The goal which is God’s call through Christ Jesus to the life above. God can use struggle, set back and brokenness to produce maturity in our faith. We can only learn to trust him with hard circumstances.

Apostle Paul was put in great trial but he kept on imitating Christ reckoning everything as loss for Christ’s sake by throwing away as mere refuse. In all his trials; blinded for three days, imprisonment and shipwreck, Paul gave up everything as complete loss for the valuable knowledge of Christ Jesus to forget what was behind him and did his best to reach what is ahead, running straight towards the heavenly.

Paul’s determination based on faith was even greater than his trial. To experience the power of Christ’s resurrection, sharing in his sufferings and rising from death to live with him was his fortune to have faced all kinds of these trials in his life, an attitude of pure joy.

We have been fortunate in Christ.
