Do good to the godly man and you will receive a reward, if not from the man himself at least from the Most High. Sirach 12:2

To do good is to love one another as brothers, and be kind and humble with one another. Do not pay back evil or cursing with cursing; instead, pay back with a blessing because a blessing is what God promised to give you when you turn away from evil and do good. Be obedient to and allow your life to be shaped by his grace as Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him her master.

Do good to the humble and you will receive thanks for your kindness as Rebecca who went down to the well to get water in the late afternoon. She was kind to the servant of Abraham and even to all his camels. The vow made to his master, Abraham to look for a wife for his son, Isaac from his own country was made successful after being prayed for.

After Rebecca had finished showing her kindness, the man took an expensive gold ring and put it in her nose and put two large gold bracelets on her arms. Rebecca did good for she knew to whom she was doing it, a godly man who was the oldest servant of Abraham. She led the servant and his men to spend the night in their house where there was room, plenty of straw and fodder.

Then the man knelt down and worshiped the Lord, the God of his master Abraham who had faithfully kept his promise by leading him straight to his master’s relatives for Rebecca was the daughter of Bethuel, who was the son of Abraham’s brother Nahor. She married to Isaac thereafter as good.

Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
