You have received without paying, so give without being paid. Matthew 10:8

While sending his disciples to preach, Jesus gave them instructions to heal, to bring the dead back to life and drive out demons. For their mission, they were to give without pay and to give especially, the peace of Christ.

The Lord, their master was just a carpenter. He lived a simple life and received from the Heavenly Father his daily needs. Jesus said, : The Son of Man has nowhere to lie down and rest. ” Therefore heaven was his roof and prayer was his bread. So he instructed his disciples to give without being paid as received without paying. To give peace as greetings when someone welcome them.

Love of Christ is also peace of Christ. The love of Christ dwelt among the disciples when Jesus was resurrected. While they were gathered together behind locked doors, Jesus came and stood among them saying, ” Peace be with you. ” Jesus gave his peace as his love for them.

One day at the Beautiful Gate, a lame man begged at Peter and John to give him something. But Peter said to him, ” I have no money at all, but I give you what I have, : In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk! ” At once the man’s feet and ankles became strong, stood up and started walking around, praising God.

Peter gave the lame man the healing power of Jesus Christ which he received without paying. It was much more than silver or gold, beyond description.

We rise by lifting others.
