You have been faithful in managing small accounts, so I will put you in charge of large amounts. Matthew 25:21
The kingdom of heaven is like a faithful servant being told, ” Come on in and share my happiness. ” Once there was a man who was about to go on a journey, he called servants in charge of his property. He gave to each one according to his ability. The servants who received invested what they had received and earned much money, except one who did nothing with his master’s property, the money.
After a long time the master of those servants came back and settled an accounts with them. To those servants who had in charge properly, the master put in charge of large amount for their faithfulness. The only one who did nothing was told, ” You bad and lazy servant! ” The money in his hand unused was taken back and given to those who knew how to manage. For to every person who has something, even more will be given, and he will have more than enough; but the person who has nothing, even the little that he has will be taken away from him. Being an useless servant, he was thrown outside in the darkness; crying and grinding his teeth.
God is faithful in his promises; his sure promise and purpose are the two things that cannot change and which he cannot lie. We have this hope as an anchor for our lives. Hebrews 6:19. His promises never fail. And late Mother Teresa once said that it was better to be faithful than to be successful. The faithful would one day be seated at the right with Jesus the Lord, and share his happiness eternally.
Fear can keep us up all night long, but faith makes one fine pillow.
