All wisdom comes from the Lord and endures with him forever. Sirach 1:1

If you consider yourself wise and learned, show it by your good living and let your actions, in all humility, be an example for others. James 3:13 The wisdom which comes from above is pure and peace-loving. These persons show understanding and listen to advice; they are full of compassion and good works; they are impartial and sincere.

The person who had true wisdom was Zaccheus in the gospel. He climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus but was seen at the first place. Jesus stayed in his house and Zaccheus sincerely gave half of his goods to the poor. For those whom he cheated, he paid back four times as much. Looking at him Jesus said, ” Salvation has come to this house today. ”

Jesus singled out prayer, fasting and almsgiving because these three are cardinal works of the religions life and the key pillars of the good life. Paul said; you must likewise give with an open hand, preside with dedication and be cheerful in your work of charity. Do good and be rich in good deeds and be generous; share with others to heap up a sound capital for the future and gain true life.

As water extinguishes the burning flames, almsgiving obtains pardon for sins. Give alms those things that are within : Love, mercy, compassion and kindness…… Kindness is like a garden of blessings and charity endures forever.

True wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.
