Rise and go your way, your faith has saved you. Luke 17:19
On the way to Jerusalem, Jesus was passing along between Samaria and Galilee, ten lepers met him at a village, calling to him at a distance, ” Jesus, Master, have pity on us! ” Then Jesus said to them, ” Go and show yourselves to the priests. ” Now, as they went their way, they found they were cured. One of them praising God in a loud voice and, throwing himself on his face before Jesus, he gave him thanks. This man was a Samaritan. Jesus said to him, ” Rise and go your way, your faith has saved you. ”
Ten lepers were cured but only one turned back to give thanks to Jesus. He was the only alien who responded straight from the heart. The other nine were concerned about fulfilling the legal requirements. This Samaritan only thought about giving thanks to God. The grace of God had found him, saved and transformed him. Seeing his love, Jesus said, ” Rise and go your way, your faith saved both in body and spirit. His gratitude made him the only one of them told : Your faith has saved you. Leprosy made a distance for him ever since and now love for God, his gratitude distanced him from his past life, joining the congregation giving thanks and praise, the joy of a new living.
A thankful heart is a joyful heart. Joy to give thanks for pain and sorrow; good and bad; little and much and also clouds and sunshine. Then God would say; ” You are the thankful one. ”
Count your blessings knowing that God is behind every single blessing.
