Be joyful always, pray at all times, be thankful in all circumstances. 1 Thessalonians 5:16
God, the Father wants us to be joyful always so as to be thankful in all circumstances. We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. Pay and treat one another with the greatest respect and love for the work we are doing. And most importantly, be at peace among ourselves and pray at all times in all circumstances.
Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians expresses his great joy when his deep longing for reconciliation is brought about. He even said in all their troubles, he was still full of courage; running over with joy. He made known to them what God’s grace had accomplished in the churches in Macedonia. They had been severely tested by the troubles they went through; but their joy was so great that they were extremely generous in their giving, even though they were very poor. They gave out as much as they could and even more than they could of their own free will. They begged and pleaded for the privilege of having a part in helping God’s people in Judea holding fast to do what is good.
Paul urged to encourage and build up one another as true community needed by believers to grow in faith and to overcome trials. In very difficult, the help of the brothers would be the proof that we are surrounded by the love of God and Christ as to be seen. By doing such as to be joyful always at all times in all circumstances giving thanks as we pray for love and unity in diversity now and then.
The joy of Christ outweighs the passing pleasures of earth.
