By the grace of God you have been saved through faith. Ephesians 2:8

We were dead through the faults and sins in which we once lived. We conformed to this world and followed the ruler who worked in those who resisted the faith. We obeyed the urges of our human nature and followed its greed consented to its desires. By nature we, like everyone else, were destined to suffer God’s anger.

But God who is rich in mercy revealed his immense love and gave us life with Christ after being dead through our sins. Jesus died to rescue us from our sins and reconcile us with God. He rose from the death and is alive now that in our union with him, he raised us up with him to rule in the heavenly world.

The love of God had already decided that through Jesus Christ he would make us his sons – this was his pleasure and purpose. The grace of God saved us through faith by forgiving our sins. This is not the result of our own efforts but by the grace of God, it is God’s gift. For by the death of Christ, we are set free, our sins forgiven and offered new life, eternal life freely because Jesus had paid the price.

The grace of God is in such large measure that all things are done according to his plan and decision. He chose us to be his own people in union with Christ based on what he had decided from the very beginning. Therefore, let whoever is thirsty, whoever wishes; accept the free gift of the water of life, graciously ready for you and me ever since the beginning of time! Revelation 22:17

Love is a gift from God, and one of the most important gifts that He wants us to share.
