He is the living stone rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him. 1 Peter 2:4

Jesus is the living stone rejected by men but chosen by God. The stone rejected by the builders has become the keystone Psalm 118:22. God is the stone which stands out and on which, all those who neither took notice of him, stumble. He must be a sanctuary and yet a stumbling stone, the rock of offense for both nations of Israel. He will be like trap and snare for the people of Jerusalem. Jesus is the stone rejected by the builders which becomes the foundation of a new building : lay in Zion a granite stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; he who believes shall not be put to shame Isaiah 28:16.

Christians are the stones of this church : living stones because each one shares the life of God and because each one has an active part to play in the Church, the body of Christ. Jesus descended to the lower part of the world and then ascended for above all the heavens. He prepared those who belong to him for the ministry, in order to build the body of Christ, until we are all united in the same faith and the same knowledge of the Son of God.

Unless the Lord builds the house, in vain do its builders labor. Without God, it is useless to spend our days and years in search of a thousand things, innovations and comfort which turn out in vain. Therefore, may God build us with Jesus, the Son as cornerstone into his holy temples to reflect the splendor of his glory.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
