Jesus left at daybreak and looked for a solitary place. Luke 4:42

People used to go out in search of Jesus because they see in him as true prophet : The way he spoke, driving out demons and healing the sick. Finding him they tried to dissuade him from leaving. Jesus went up to the mountains before dawn every morning to seek and pray to his heavenly Father. In such a solitary place before he started his work for the day, he gave himself totally in solidarity with the Father for his will. That was what he was sent to do. A divine mission assigned to him by the Father.

Jesus was a model missionary, however he used to leave the task of shepherding to others. When people tried to dissuade him from leaving, he did not stay on but choose to leave because he had in mind many more people still awaiting the Good News. He said, ” I have to go to other towns to announce the good news of the kingdom of God. That is what I was sent to do. ” (Luke 4:43)

Jesus used to preach in the synagogues and he was sent to bring good news to the poor. His words and deeds were stirring people who had become helpless and opening the way for human liberation at all levels. In the same way today, we can speak of evangelization if liberating deeds are seen. Jesus continued to preach in the synagogues of the Jewish country so that the blind see, the lame walk and the deaf hear, the good news of the kingdom of God proclaimed.

Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.
