It is those walking in the Spirit of God who are children of God. Romans 8:14

Man is flesh and blood; he has heart, soul and mind; but the Spirit is something that God sends into man. The Spirit changes our manner of being and behaving before God. The human life of Christ prepared the way for the communication of the Spirit to those who were to be adopted, in order later on to be made divine, that is transformed in God. First comes Christ, then Spirit.

Those walking according to the flesh tend towards what belongs to the flesh, those led by the spirit, to what is spirit. Those led by the Spirit go to what comes from the Spirit. And then they begin to freely desire of the Spirit animate our life, a security and a joy.

God has adopted us as his sons and daughters and gives us his Spirit who abides us in a special manner as adopted children of God. Whoever lives in the Spirit lives in the light. The Spirit gives us internal knowledge and joy in the things of God inspiring us each day, every time we cry, ” Abba! Father!

We do not know how to pray but the Spirit comes to help us in our weakness. The deep desire of the Spirit of God within us intercedes for us with groans that cannot be expressed. And he who sees inner secrets knows the desires of the spirit praying for he prays according to the will of God who communicates his peace to all his children as we receive through faith all graces that God gives us.

The way we step out the past is to walk in the Spirit.
