For without holiness no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14

All are to strive for peace with all men and strive to be holy, for without holiness no onw will see the Lord, for without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14). We are to be holy as God is holy. To achieve holiness, one has to have the fruit of peace.

The comforting words that wisdom addresses : My son, pay attention when the Lord corrects you and do not be discouraged when he punishes you. All correction is painful rather than pleasant : later it brings the fruit of peace, that is holiness to those who have been trained by it. Train to overcome the flesh, what in us is weak in face of duty and God’s call to holiness.

What we endure is in order to correct us. God treats us like sons and daughters who need correction. It is a way of saying that God knows the inner core of all people, he knows their misery and weakness. For the Lord correct those he loves and chastises everyone he accepts as a son.

We should be subjected to the Father of the spirit to have life whereas God corrects us for our own good that we may share his holiness. See that no one falls from the grace of God, lest a bitter plants springs up and its poison corrupts many among you. (Hebrews 12:15).

Strive to be holy to come near to Mount Zion, the city of the living God for the solemn feast with its innumerable angels. There is God, Judge of all, with the spirits of the upright brought to perfection. There is Jesus, the mediator of the new covenant, with the saints and angels that cry : holy, holy, most holy! For the heavenly feast.

Holiness is doing God’s will willingly.
